Owls Roost

This quirky "upside down" two storey cottage was half of the old barn. It is cosy enough for couples, but with plenty of space for families. The entrance is up several steps to a stable door opening into the large living room and kitchen with barn oak laminate flooring. This room takes full advantage of the views over the gardens to the estuary in one direction and towards St Beock Downs in the other. Having windows on three sides and a high ceiling, it is light and airy. The kitchen is fitted with maple shaker style cupboards, a 'pear block' worktop and attractive yellow ochre, terracotta and midnight blue tiling around the worktops. The kitchen is fitted with an electric cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer. Lighting is provided by an overhead 3 spot bar and under cupboard lighting above the worktops. Crockery is a timeless design by Poole pottery.

A rectangular pine dining table beneath a feature 5 pendant iron light provides space and comfort for dining for four.

The sitting room area is arranged around an attractive log burning stove with glass panelled doors. As well as being a character feature, this provides additional comfort on a cosy winter's night. The three seater sofa and armchair are arranged around this and the television, VHS video recorder and DVD player. A separate radio provides alternative entertainment. Board games and jigsaws are provided for both children and adults alike.

Steps from the sitting room lead to the two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with full size bunk beds, which are downstairs. The bedrooms have views over the gardens and are not directly overlooked.

The bathroom, also downstairs, has a bath with quality Mira thermostatic shower over, a vanity light with shaver socket adapter and a heated towel rail.
