Welcome
Before looking at the details let us tell you a little bit about us, as we know how important it is for you to make the right choice for your holiday. Trevorrick Farm is our home, and whether you stay in our house as a B&B guest, or in one of our cottages we hope we can make it feel like yours during your stay. However you have the assurance that we are on hand if you need us.
Tired of our conventional “9 to 5” lifestyles we moved here in April 2001 for a change of life and it certainly has been that. We are continually upgrading and improving our facilities and over the past six years have replaced virtually everything in every cottage. Since we have been here our number of repeat booking and recommendations has increased enormously. In 2007 we had a repeat booking rate of over 50% in the summer holidays which obviously proves that our guests do find Trevorrick a great place to stay!! The Old Round House and Lily Pad are great cottages for couples. The Old Round House averages around 35 weeks of bookings per year. We have had several couples choose the Old Round House for their honeymoon. All our cottages have open fires or log burners for that extra cosiness, apart from Curlew Cottage, where it is not feasible to install a real log burner, and we have fitted a top of the range cast iron, although electric, stove. Our cottages are also popular with couples with young families. Having 2 little ones ourselves we are particularly sympathetic to the needs of families with young children, and a box full of toys on arrival is always a welcome distraction. Duck feeding is also a popular pastime. We also have bantams, rabbits and guinea pigs. Over the summer we have many new bantam chicks, goslings, and ducklings. Our summer resident pigs are very popular. There is usually something going on.
We have also added to our facilities with a "professional" table football, 14' outdoor trampoline, wooden climbing frame with tower and swings and our fabulous large wooden play combine harvester which reflects the history of the farm (Trevorrick was a grain farm up until 1980)..
We hope we can offer something to everyone. Our location is wonderful, we are situated on a quiet no through lane, which just leads down to the Creek. It's a pleasant 45 minute stroll to Padstow (about 2.25 miles), across farmland and onto the Camel trail. We rarely travel to Padstow other than on foot, the views over the Camel Estuary are superb and we never tire of this walk. Our 4 year old has been walking unaided into Padstow and back since just before he was 3 and there is no stopping him now! Our farmland gives direct access onto the footpath which goes around the Little Petherick Creek, another lovely walk. Equally if you like cycling you can cycle onto the Camel trail directly along the quiet lanes, and then head towards Padstow or Wadebridge. We are keen cyclists and use this route often. Sandy beaches are just a 10 to 15 minute drive which suit the needs of everybody.
As we have only six cottages we hope you will find your stay peaceful and quiet, even in the height of summer. There is plenty of space for barbeques and picnics, and a playing field for games or kite flying. If you don't fancy cooking, you can stroll along the lane to the Pickwick Inn (a ten minute walk), which has good facilities for children and excellent estuary views. The Ring O'Bells in the village, about a mile away, is another popular choice.
Don't forget our static caravan, tucked away with it’s own garden. This is always popular given the superb views it enjoys. It's name (Credis View) is taken from the creek it overlooks.
On the bed and breakfast side, what we offer is a stay in a family home, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We achieved a 4 star rating for the first time in 2007. We normally (except in the case of late arrivals) offer our guests tea and coffee on arrival in our guest lounge, and usually home made cake, made with our own eggs (subject to laying!). We are happy to provide a full English breakfast or any variation, served around our large farmhouse table.
Happy browsing, if there is anything at all you need to know please e-mail or phone.
Melanie and Mike.
