Covid-19 Precautions

Our Covid refund guarantee

If you are unable to travel to take your holiday because of a national lockdown, or because your local area is put into a Tier where you are not allowed to travel, we guarantee that you will get a full refund. This applies only to the address given on the booking form at the time of booking and when the travel restriction coincides with the start of your holiday with us.

The refund guarantee covers national lockdowns and Tier restrictions, but does NOT cover you (or any member of your party) for being unable to travel because you (or a member of your party) fall ill with Covid, or are required to quarantine or self-isolate. These events can be covered by you taking out travel insurance. There are a number of policies that include cover for illness with Covid and self-isolation. We can provide you with some examples, on request, or you can look for suitable cover on comparison sites such as GoCompare. We are not selling, promoting, endorsing or recommending any particular product, and do not benefit financially from, nor have any formal relationship with, any of these insurance providers.

How we protect you

We are all concerned about the spread of coronavirus. At the end of the first lockdown, the government only allowed self catering accommodation to re-open subject to certain stringent conditions being met. We have been issued with protocols that outline new cleaning and safety requirements. These are to ensure your safety, and that of our staff, and our family. It will, however, mean that things are slightly different from usual, and we will be asking for your cooperation with a few things.
As a result, we have demonstrated we are complying with the conditions are very happy to say that we have been granted the Good to Go accreditation from VisitEngland.

We're good to go

New cleaning regime

Our cottages have continually scored top marks for cleanliness when assessed annually with VisitEngland. However, new protocols require additional ventilation and cleaning followed by using a virucide on all high touch surfaces. We have had to reduce some of the 'extra' items in the kitchens. Some cushions and throws have been removed, others we have to quarantine between changeovers. Toys and games have been reduced, or removed. Pillows, duvets and mattresses all have protectors beneath the covers which have to be changed between guests. All this means that we need extra time for each changeover. Consequentally, we have had to alter the arrival and departure times. Arrival time is now 6:00pm (rather than 4:30pm) and 9.00am departure (rather than 10:00am). We also ask guests to bag up pillow cases, duvet covers and sheets to protect ourselves at the end of your stay (and open windows). We understand this may be inconvenient, but it is really important that you allow us this extra time to ensure your safety.

Out and about

Please ensure you maintain social distancing around the farm. If you need to contact us, please text, phone or email.

In 2020 swimming pool sessions (when pool was open Easter to the end of October) needed to be booked in advance on a single family basis, which actually had great feedback and did mean guests does mean had the pool to themselves. This will continue for 2021.

Our usual "communal" animal feeding and petting sessions also had to stop to maintain social distancing. However, we replaced communal animal feeding with a more "DIY" or single family experience which equally was appreciated and enjoyed by our guests.

It is unlikely this will change for 2021, but we will continue to follow all government advice.

Note pubs, restaurants and attractions will often now need to be booked in advance, if they are allowed to open. The new normal is different, but we can still enjoy a good safe holiday.
