Distance: 10-minute drive, around five miles away.
Camel Creek Adventure Park is a must-visit for families with children of all ages. This fun-filled theme park has a range of rides, from gentle swings and slides for young ones to more thrilling options like the Wave Rider for older kids. The park is also home to friendly animals, and children can even pet and feed some of them. With indoor play areas, soft play zones, and plenty of picnic spots, it’s perfect for a day packed with family excitement.

2. Lappa Valley Steam Railway

Distance: 30-minute drive
Lappa Valley combines train rides, outdoor play, and beautiful Cornish countryside all in one. Kids will love riding the miniature steam trains through lush landscapes to hidden play areas. Once you arrive, there’s a lake for pedal boats, an adventure playground, mini golf, and scenic nature trails. It’s an enchanting spot where little ones can experience the thrill of trains and the magic of the great outdoors.
When our children were young, this was our favourite place, and is for many guests. With the addition of an indoor play area a few years ago, it’s now a great all weather attraction.

3. Newquay Zoo

Distance: 30-minute drive
Newquay Zoo offers a wild adventure for families, with over 1,000 animals to discover, including lions, lemurs, red pandas, and exotic birds. Kids can learn all about the animals through interactive talks, feeding times, and special exhibits. The zoo also has an exciting play area and beautiful gardens, making it a great spot for a full day of exploration and learning.

4. Blue Reef Aquarium

Distance: 30-minute drive
Located in the heart of Newquay, Blue Reef Aquarium provides an immersive underwater experience that’s perfect for curious minds. Kids can marvel at everything from colorful coral reefs and clownfish to fearsome sharks and graceful sea turtles. The aquarium also has a touch pool where children can get hands-on with sea creatures. It’s an ideal choice for a rainy day or a quieter afternoon.
And of course it’s right next to the beach!!!

5. The Eden Project

Distance: 35-minute drive
The Eden Project is a must-visit, both for its educational value and its wow factor. This world-famous attraction is home to massive biomes filled with exotic plants, from tropical rainforests to Mediterranean landscapes. Kids will enjoy the interactive exhibits and outdoor play areas, including a zip wire and a seasonal summer splash zone. Eden also offers special family events in the summer, making it a memorable adventure for all ages.
Our children always loved this when they were young, just wandering around the biomes kept them busy. If you gift aid you get in free for a year, and some of our guests even go twice in the same week. It’s certainly an incentive to come back to Trevorrick Farm within a year!

6. The Lost Gardens of Heligan

Distance: 35-minute drive
A visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan is like stepping into a fairy tale, with winding paths, jungle plants, secret gardens, and even a Giant’s Head sculpture hidden in the trees. Kids can run through the bamboo tunnels, cross rope bridges, and explore the animal farm, which has friendly animals like pygmy goats and pigs. Heligan’s Enchanted Trail is a summer highlight, offering an interactive experience that’s perfect for young explorers.
Definitely a must do! The play area is now massive, so parents, you may struggle to walk around the garden areas!

7. Bodmin and Wenford Railway

Distance: 25-minute drive
Take a nostalgic trip on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, where families can enjoy a scenic journey on a real steam train. Special events throughout the summer, such as “Teddy Bear Picnics” and “Pirate Adventures,” add extra fun for young train enthusiasts. This is a fantastic experience for children who love trains, and the historic station offers a chance to learn about the golden age of rail travel.
It’s also a good one on a wet day to go up and down the line and have a picnic lunch.

8. Padstow Harbour and Camel Trail

Distance: 10-minute drive to Padstow

Did you know – for an adult it’s just a three quarters of an hour walk into Padstow. Our children managed it by time they were three, but it did take longer! For younger children we can provide back packs, as it’s not great for buggies across the fields. Or try a one way work, with one party doing retail therapy with the kids, and the other party walking back to get the car. Or you can get a bus back into the village, just a mile away.

A visit to the charming fishing town of Padstow is perfect for families. Explore the bustling harbor, enjoy a Cornish ice cream, and take a walk along the scenic Camel Trail. For a more active day, hire bikes in Padstow and cycle a flat, family-friendly route along the Camel Trail to Wadebridge. It’s a gentle ride with beautiful views, suitable for riders of all ages, and you can even rent trailers or child seats for little ones.
There is also a mini golf up on the hill where there is also Greens, a great eating place.

9. Prideaux Place

Distance: 10-minute drive
Prideaux Place is a beautiful Elizabethan manor house in Padstow that welcomes families to explore its house and gardens. Children will enjoy the resident deer herd and the beautiful grounds, while parents can appreciate the historic architecture and relaxing tea rooms. Special family-friendly events, including open-air cinema nights and themed garden days, often take place during the summer.

10. St Eval Kart Circuit

Distance: 20-minute drive
For families with older children or teens, St Eval Kart Circuit offers a thrilling day of go-kart racing. The gentle waves and golden sands make it ideal for little ones, while older kids can explore the caves and rock formations.

12. Cornish Birds of Prey Centre

Distance: 20-minute drive
This unique center provides a fascinating day out with a chance to see magnificent birds of prey up close. Kids can watch live flying displays and learn about the birds’ natural behaviors and habitats. In addition to the birds, there are other animals to meet, including meerkats and wallabies, making this an exciting and educational experience for the whole family.

Did you know – if it wasn’t for the china clay industry we would not be at Trevorrick Farm!!! I was tax manager for English China Clays in the Reading head office, but the company was taken over in 1999 by a French company. I worked for a trial period down in Cornwall, but with a new baby, we decided to take a leap of faith and do something different! Nearly 25 years later we are still here!!!

Wheal Martyn Clay Works offers a unique glimpse into Cornwall’s china clay industry, with interactive exhibits, machinery displays, and a discovery trail. Kids can explore the historic clay pits, visit the outdoor play area, and try hands-on activities like panning for minerals. The nature trails lead through beautiful woodlands, making it a great spot for both learning and outdoor fun.

14. Springfields Fun Park and Pony Centre

Distance: 25-minute drive
This park is a hit with younger children, featuring pony rides, indoor and outdoor play zones, a boating lake, and plenty of friendly farm animals to meet.
