Owl's Roost Cottage

This quirky “upside down” two-storey cottage was once half of the old grain barn, and is named after the barn owls you may see flying around and that in the past have bred in a nearby open barn on our farm. It’s cosy enough for couples, whilst offering plenty of space for families with a lovely bunk bedded room for children. The gorgeous open plan upstairs living area of the cottage takes full advantage of the countryside views over the gardens towards the Camel estuary in one direction and towards St Beock Downs in the other.

The entrance is up several steps to a stable door opening into the large living room and kitchen area. This room takes full advantage of the countryside views over the gardens towards the Camel estuary in one direction and towards St Beock Downs in the other. Having windows on three sides and a high ceiling, it is light and airy. The kitchen is fitted with solid ash cupboards, a black slate effect worktop and attractive textured tiling. The kitchen is well equipped with a ceramic hob electric cooker with a separate grill, microwave, fridge/freezer and all the kitchen essentials down to a cafetiere. Sofas are quality Stressless leather recliners, dining furniture is beautifully updated Ercol.

Steps from the sitting room lead downstairs to the two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with full-size bunk beds. The bunk bedded room is for use by children up to 16 years old only. The double bed has a sumptuous Sealy Windermere; Sealy tell us “as used by the Savoy hotel” . Both bedrooms have views over the gardens and are, not directly overlooked.
