Exploring the 7 Bays for 7 Days from Trevorrick Farm Cottages

There are all kinds of adventures to embark on here in Cornwall but hands down one of the most beautiful ways to explore it all is the 7 Bays for 7 Days – a week’s worth of stunning seaside encounters just for you. Enjoy!

Cornwall’s stunning coastline offers some of the most scenic beaches in the UK, and one of the best ways to enjoy it all is by exploring the famous “7 Bays for 7 Days”. Located just a short drive from Trevorrick Farm, each bay has its own unique charm, making it perfect for different activities. Whether you’re seeking a day of surfing, rock pooling, a peaceful walk, or a bite to eat with a view, these seven beaches offer something for everyone. Here’s our guide to each beach, complete with travel tips and refreshment options.

1. Trevone Bay – 10-minute drive

Best for: Sandcastles, bodyboarding, shell collecting.
Facilities: Café, shop, and public toilets

Trevone Bay is a charming, sheltered cove with golden sand and unique rock formations. It’s also a blue flag beach and dog-free day time in the summer months. It’s a great beach for families or couples looking for a peaceful day by the sea. The impressive “Blow Hole” nearby—a natural sinkhole on the hill to the right —adds a touch of drama to any visit.

To the left of the sandy bay, there is a shingle beach separated by a promontory, which is an amazing beach for shell collecting – we haven’t found one better in Cornwall. If you look carefully you can even find rare tiny European bean cowries. A great family challenge to find!

Trevone offers a café, which serves great wood fired pizzas, and a small shop right by the beach, which is open throughout the year. It’s a perfect spot to grab coffee, snacks, or a Cornish pasty after a day whilst on the beach or after a walk along the cliffs.

For the keen walkers it is a lovely 1.5 hour walk from the farm.

2. Harlyn Bay – 12-minute drive

Best for: Family-friendly fun, and rock pooling
Facilities: Seasonal café and surf school; public toilets nearby

The next cove along from Trevone, Harlyn Bay is a wide, sandy beach that’s perfect for families with children. Known for its calm, sheltered waters and ample rock pools, it’s an ideal spot for young beachgoers to paddle, explore, and search for sea life. Harlyn also has a highly-rated surf school where beginners can take lessons or rent equipment.

Harlyn has seasonal refreshment options, including a small beach café offering snacks, drinks, and ice cream. During peak season, you’ll find additional food trucks parked nearby, so you won’t go hungry.

3. Constantine Bay – 15-minute drive

Best for: Surfing and dramatic views
Facilities: Beach shop and seasonal refreshments; toilets nearby

One of the most popular surfing spots in Cornwall, Constantine Bay has long waves and a rugged coastline that attracts surfers and walkers alike. The beach is less sheltered than others, so it’s ideal for experienced surfers, but it also offers a stunning setting for those who prefer a scenic walk or a day in the sun.

A small beach shop nearby provides refreshments and surf essentials. It’s also a great spot for sunset-watching, with benches on the cliff for panoramic views.

4. Mother Ivey’s Bay – 15-minute drive

Best for: Peaceful beach days and scenic strolls
Facilities: No direct facilities, so bring your own supplies

For those seeking a quieter, more secluded spot, Mother Ivey’s Bay is a hidden gem. This beautiful beach has soft sand, turquoise waters, and a more peaceful vibe, making it perfect for couples or anyone wanting a bit of tranquility. The beach is accessible via a short walk from the road, giving it a secluded feel away from crowds.

While Mother Ivey’s doesn’t have facilities directly on the beach, it’s close enough to other bays where you can find refreshments, or you can pack a picnic for a serene day out.

5. Booby’s Bay – 15-minute drive

Best for: Adventurous exploration and scenic photography
Facilities: Seasonal refreshments nearby at Constantine Bay; no direct facilities

Just a short walk from Constantine Bay, Booby’s Bay offers an untamed, rugged beauty and an array of rock formations and pools for exploration. This beach is ideal for adventurous visitors, with fascinating shipwreck remains visible during low tide and plenty of spots for rock pooling.

There are no direct facilities on Booby’s, but it’s within walking distance to Constantine Bay, where you’ll find a shop and seasonal refreshments.

6. Treyarnon Bay – 12-minute drive

Best for: Swimming, rock pools, and evening barbecues

Facilities: Seasonal café and beach shop; public toilets available

Treyarnon Bay is a true Cornish treasure, known for its soft sandy beach, clear waters, and a natural rock pool that fills with seawater at high tide—perfect for a refreshing dip. We always say if you want a lovely alternative to Trevone, try Treyarnon. This family-friendly bay is popular with both locals and visitors, offering plenty of space for sunbathing, playing in the sand, or swimming in sheltered waters. During low tide, rock pools emerge along the shore, inviting children and adults alike to explore and search for crabs and other marine life.

The bay features a seasonal café and beach shop where you can grab snacks, hot drinks, or a traditional Cornish ice cream. Treyarnon’s wide sands and picturesque setting make it an ideal spot for evening picnics or a beach barbecue as you watch the sun set over the sea—one of Cornwall’s finest sights.

7. Porthcothan Bay – 15-minute drive

Best for: Sand dunes, swimming, and relaxation
Facilities: Beach shop, seasonal café, and public toilets

Porthcothan Bay is a sandy, crescent-shaped beach backed by sand dunes, making it perfect for a day of swimming, sunbathing, or relaxing. The dunes offer shelter on breezier days, and low tide reveals hidden coves and rock pools, adding an extra touch of magic to this beautiful spot.

There’s a beach shop and a seasonal café right by the beach, where you can get snacks, drinks, and classic Cornish treats. The calm vibe here makes it a great choice for families or those looking for a leisurely beach day.
